Attention! This is an expansion. You will need the basic version of Munchkin to play.
Description:
The first Kote appeared on Earth about 25 million years ago. But that's not certain! Fortunately, since then, they have changed a bit, gotten used to munchkins, and, thank goodness, have shrunk a little. Kote have become an integral part of all humanity! We let them into our lives (or do they let us into theirs?), and then Kote take a dominant position there. Everyone loves kitties because they are very cool!
What does "Munchkin" have to do with this? Well, they also roam the dungeons!
About the expansion:
"Munchkin: Kote" is a small thematic expansion for the original "Munchkin", although who can forbid you to mix it with any other game in the series?.. It is perfect for all fans of "Munchkin" or kitties, that is, for everyone!
Inside, you will find 30 new cards – 21 door cards and 9 treasure cards with amazing art. Cute kitties will show you all their charm and fierceness! Get ready to meet new monsters: "Don Murleone", "Cat Crowd" or "Kitty Chefs"! There will also be new gear, such as the "Nine-Headed Cat" or the card "Achieve Enlightenment"!
About the game:
The game "Munchkin" is a localization of the tabletop card game Munchkin. In Russian, the game, no matter how hard you try, takes on a new sound, but remains exciting, dynamic, and gleeful. Role-playing mockery over simple, but at times intentionally vague rules mocks noble elves, wise wizards, brave warriors, and shaggy haflings. Clerics fight undead, thieves cut their opponents in the heat of battle, giant Calamari Zillas and horrible Face Suckers seek to poison or take the heroic lives of your munchkins, but it all happens casually, without long speeches and numerous throws of various dice, as accepted in D&D, GURPS, and other role-playing systems.
So, the tabletop game "Munchkin" is a role-playing game in form, a parody in content. Players' munchkins explore the dungeon, pulling out the local monstrous inhabitants into the light of day, and either regret it or gain new levels and treasures for their victory. The outcome of each such adventure (battle, in short) depends on what the player brought to the fight. For the player, this is their level and bonuses/penalties from gear, class, race, and curses. For the monster, it is its level plus enhancement cards and one-time gear. Where does the monster get its gear? In your battle, envious opponents may also join in: they can help the monster and weaken you. Therefore, although you can play "Munchkin" with just two, gather more people for the match: there will be more curses, enhancers, and potions in hand that can easily shift the balance of power in battle in any direction, and vigilant envious ones won't let any of you become the sole leader in the race to the 10th victory level.
When creating the tabletop game "Munchkin", it was aimed at a youth audience familiar with role-playing games. Nevertheless, anyone can play "Munchkin" at any age, except for very young children, for whom some of Steve Jackson's jokes may seem too salty. But anyway, a fantasy adventure with heroic/feminine characters, incredible situations, indescribably creepy unspeakable monsters, and vast treasure hoards will delight anyone with a broad outlook and a healthy sense of humor.
How to play
At the beginning of the game, players start as ordinary people of their gender (yes, yes, the game even distinguishes genders!) at level one. On your turn, you kick down a door, that is, you flip over the top card of the door deck, and perform the conditions written on the card. If it's a monster card, then you are out of luck and have to fight it. When the player's strength is greater than or equal to the monster's strength, then the player wins and can take as many treasure cards as indicated on the monster card. During the battle, other players can help their friend and join him in the fight, or interfere and enhance the emerging enemy in every way. If the player wins the battle, they gain one level. Throughout the game, players will apply various classes and professions to themselves, change their gender, put on different gear, drink suspicious potions, and fight the most diverse monsters!
How to expand the deck?
The main feature of the tabletop game "Munchkin" is its diversity. You can encounter the most various settings of "Munchkin" and all of them can, and even should, be mixed together! Learn new martial arts, try on a pirate eye patch, go on a space journey – your games will become more diverse and interesting, and you will encounter unexpected monsters along your way, but, of course, you will find a way to retaliate!
And who won?
It’s very simple, the winner is the munchkin who was able to be the first to reach the tenth level, by any means necessary.
