Submission

The brilliant and unpredictable Michel Houellebecq is one of the most famous writers on the planet, author of world bestsellers "Atomised", "Platform", "The Possibility of an Island", "The Map and the Territory" (Goncourt Prize 2010). His sixth novel "Submission" coincidentally... hit the shelves on the day of the bloody terrorist attack at the magazine "Charlie Hebdo", which dedicated an issue to the release of this book. 
"Submission" narrates the collapse of the modern political system of France in the near future. Houellebecq himself defined the genre of his novel as "political fiction." The action takes place in 2022. A Muslim president comes to power by democratic means, and the country begins to change right before our eyes. A lonely intellectual named François, absorbed in science, university intrigues, and the search for temporary companions, unexpectedly discovers that his world is collapsing like a house of cards.
