Where We Are, There Is Hell

«Where We Are, There Is Hell. Special Edition» — a psychological thriller about a student who, due to insomnia, increasingly struggles to distinguish between dreams and reality, and whose acquaintance with a dangerous doctrine changes his views on what is permissible. The action unfolds in a university environment, where discussions about literature, philosophy, and morality gradually become part of an increasingly troubling inner experience. Here, external effects are not important, but how foreign ideas penetrate consciousness and shift personal boundaries.

The protagonist studies at the philology department of Detford University and lives in a state of constant sleep deprivation. Against this backdrop, meeting a student from the philosophy department becomes a turning point for him. That student introduces him to the circle of Beast Philosophy — a doctrine that questions familiar moral guidelines. The closer their conversations and relationships become, the more noticeably the protagonist's thought process changes. University lectures, books, and debates about ideas gradually transform into a space where intellectual attraction is linked to a dangerous moral choice.
