The Mystery of the Palace of Versailles

Penelope Breu arrives in Versailles to work as a fabric curator and expects a measured museum life. Instead, she is met with a mysterious death at the Latona fountain, a strange writing desk in Marie Antoinette's apartments, and a frightening piece of evidence that should not exist in the palace. A Chinese patron appears around the museum, dreaming of building a copy of Versailles in his homeland, while at night, Jansenists gather in the park, as if old religious conflicts have not yet ended. Together with Vandri, the heroine follows the trail of intrigues, where art, money, politics, and the memory of the royal court are intertwined too closely.
