From Earth to the Universe: Galileo Galilei, Astronomy and the Mysteries of Space

Today we know a lot about our Universe and the place that Earth occupies in it. But how do we know this? Since when? How did our vision of the world evolve from the quiet and small Universe seen by the people of Antiquity to this gigantic and constantly changing cosmos?

This book tells the story of Galileo Galilei and other great individuals who sought new, more accurate answers and «saw» what no one had ever seen before them. About people who observed, created, measured, studied, traveled, suffered from the cold, risked their lives… and tried to find possible explanations.
