Mythology of the Ancient Germans

For the first time in Russian translation, a review work by the historian of religion, one of the founders of scientific religious studies, P.D. Chantepie de la Saussaye, dedicated to the mythology of the ancient Germanic peoples is published. This book introduces the reader to the world of Germanic gods and myths, provides an overview of historical information about them, presents the history of their study up to the end of the 19th century, and raises many questions, some of which have yet to be answered. The translation is accompanied by comments that complement the author's text and provide insight into contemporary approaches to the topics discussed.
