To save her beloved, the heroine makes a deal with Vlad Dagervood — the most dangerous man in the city — and becomes his property for a year. Thus begins her life in the mansion, where familiar logic no longer applies. Here, magic, cruel rules, and beings that could once be mistaken for humans coexist. The heroine has to not only figure out whom she can trust but also learn to survive in a new reality where every step has a price, and the past gradually returns to her life.
