About the game and its mechanics
Your... goal — is to create a thriving region with an extensive network of roads and railways in 8 rounds. You will need to strategically connect various routes, ensuring ease of movement, and build as many cities as possible to earn prestige points and outpace your opponents.
The game combines several popular mechanics:
-Tile Drafting - players choose sets of road segments from a common market.
-Tile Placement - you must lay tiles in your playing area, following the rules of path connection.
-Network Building - creating continuous routes for transportation.
-Resource Management - placing transport and traveler tokens to maximize the benefits from the constructed paths.
About the gameplay
Each of the eight rounds consists of four phases:
-Preparation. A market of new road tiles, randomly drawn from a bag, is formed on the central station board, and placement tokens are updated.
-Tile Selection. Players take turns picking columns of road tiles and bonus tokens from the table, immediately placing them in their playing area. It is important to follow the matching rule: railways must connect to railways, and highways — to highways.
-Token Placement. According to the active tokens at the station, players place train, car, and traveler tokens on their roads. Each placed token earns prestige points based on how long and high-quality the network it complements is.
-End of Round. The order of play for the next stage is determined.
After the eighth round, players receive additional points for formed cities (groups of 3 or more districts) and for the largest rectangle filled with tiles without gaps. However, be careful: for each «gap» (a road leading nowhere) beyond the five allowed, you will lose points. The winner is the one whose transportation empire scores the most prestige points!
