An artistic-documentary adventure story about an orphanage during the Civil War was written by two of its former pupils, L. Panteleev (real name Yeryemeev Alexey Ivanovich) and Grigory Belykh, when they were 18 and 19 years old, three years after finishing their studies. The way for the publication of the story in 1927 was opened by E. Schwartz and S. Marshak. The book has always been extremely popular. For middle school age.
