Death in Diamonds

The fourth novel in the series “The Investigation is Led by Her Majesty” takes the reader to the year 1957, when young Queen Elizabeth II masters the difficult art of representing the British monarchy on the international stage. Each foreign visit is a trial that requires composure and self-control. Especially when, just before an important public address, the text of the prepared speech mysteriously disappears. At the same time, a double murder occurs in Chelsea, London: an escort girl is found dead, wearing a diamond tiara on her head, and her “gentleman” is found strangled, with a knife embedded in his eye. The police seem to be stuck because someone is clearly obstructing the investigation. Elizabeth II begins to suspect that a close person is involved in the case. Will the queen and her loyal assistant Joan McGraw manage to untangle this knot?
