Pestushki

The book is a collection of Russian folk pestushki. Pestushki are short rhymed poems or songs that accompany a child's first movements. While reciting a pestushka, an adult strokes the waking baby on the tummy, does exercises with the hands, claps on the heels, and teaches the first steps. Raising children in folk traditions awakens genetic memory and lays the foundation for harmonious development.
