The book introduces the basic orthoepic, grammatical, and lexical norms of modern Russian language and offers a system of exercises that facilitate their assimilation. Special attention is paid to preventing mistakes typical of the Russian speech of bilinguals – students who speak fluently in two languages, one of which is Russian, and who live outside of Russia. The course is intended primarily for those who have learned Russian at home, in the family, but have not studied it systematically or are unsure of their proficiency. The book is addressed to high school students and first-year university students who wish to clarify or systematize their understanding of Russian grammar, word usage, and spelling.
