«Pistis Sophia» — one of the most important Gnostic texts that have reached us. It is the revelation of Jesus Christ given to his disciples after the Resurrection on the Mount of Olives over eleven years. The book reveals the hidden mysteries of the universe: from the structure of divine spheres and aeons to the descent and redemption of Sophia, the feminine divine principle embodying Wisdom.
At the center of the narrative is the dramatic story of the Fall and Salvation of Pistis Sophia, her repentance and ascent from chaos, which serves as the archetypal path of the soul striving to return to the Pleroma. The text is rich in complex cosmology, teachings on light, archons, and mystical practices, as well as detailed interpretations of Old Testament psalms in a Gnostic context. This edition presents a new translation into Russian by O. A. Fyodorova, taking into account the best scientific translations and studies, and is accompanied by detailed commentaries that reveal the depth of this unique spiritual monument.
