«This is my home» — the second book of Frida Vihgudova's trilogy about Semyon Karabanov. Karabanov leaves the orphanage in Beryozovaya Polyana near Leningrad and begins to work in the Ukrainian village of Chereshenki. In this orphanage, the children are no longer homeless kids — boys who have tasted the streets, but rather orphans, boys and girls, big and small, each with their own troubles and characters, just like in Beryozovaya Polyana. Stubborn and compliant, open and reserved, they must not only learn to live in new conditions but also prepare for the challenging adult life that awaits them beyond the orphanage door. Together with his wife Galya and like-minded educators, Karabanov seeks the key to the soul of each child.
