Urania

The collections of poems by Joseph Brodsky (1940-1996) «A Stop in the Desert», «The End of a Beautiful Era», «Part of Speech», «New Stanzas to Augusta», «Urania», and «Landscape with Flood» were published in the 1970s and 1990s by the American publishing house «Ardis», which for many years published works of Russian literature that could not be seen in their homeland. Brodsky wrote that this publishing house saved numerous Russian writers and poets from oblivion and changed the very climate of Russian literature. The collection «Urania» includes poems from the 1970s and 1980s, among which are «Developing Plato», «Autumn Cry of the Hawk», «Venetian Strophes», «Roman Elegies» and many others.
