The End of a Beautiful Era

Collections of poems by Joseph Brodsky (1940-1996) "Stop in the Desert", "The End of a Beautiful Era", "Part of Speech", "New Stanzas to Augusta", "Urania" and "Landscape with Flood" were published in the 1970s-90s by the American publishing house "Ardis", which for many years published works of Russian literature that could not be seen in their homeland. Brodsky wrote that this publishing house saved numerous Russian writers and poets from oblivion and changed the very climate of Russian literature. The collection "The End of a Beautiful Era" included poems from the late 1960s to the early 1970s, among which are "A Speech about Spilled Milk", "Dedicated to Yalta", "Conversation with a Celestial Being", "Lithuanian Diversion" and others.
