The One That Shouldn't Be

It may seem that different people, different crimes, different events take place in the novel and that there is nothing in common between them. But gradually these events and people line up into one common story, and motives are revealed… There are four of them, all a little over thirty, they don’t resemble each other, but that doesn’t hinder their friendship…

More than a year ago, a tragedy occurred – a summer house burned down, people died, Edgar's bride perished, and he himself miraculously survived. He remembers nothing of what happened. The official investigation yields no results. Then Edgar hires a private detective and goes to China, where his friends send him. A year later he returns and realizes that… the past follows relentlessly.

Meanwhile, terrible events begin to unfold in the city, like in a horror movie, only even worse because it's in real life. And the four friends try to make sense of it all.
