This little book of mine is about the sea and the lighthouse
In the 1920s, a campaign began in children's literature against fairy tales. It was decided not to use the old images of Baba Yaga, Zmey Gorynych, and other fairy tale characters. Mayakovsky was happy to "introduce children to new concepts,...
with a new approach to things." He brought new heroes to children's literature - people of working professions and created more than 20 works for young children, filled with revolutionary spirit, new ideology, and a call to labor ("What is good and what is bad?", "Who to be?", "The Story of Vlas, the lazybones and slacker" and others). With an unmatched style, rhythm, poster-like manner, and comprehensible images, the poet's children's poems won the love of young readers. Mayakovsky could break everything down into simple parts - telling children about complex things in a way that made it clear what and why. The theme of light and the saving lighthouse was always close to the poet. Often, Mayakovsky would sign his letters and documents this way - Lighthouse (or VMayak). And during his trip to the USA, newspapers wrote: "Tonight, all New York lighthouses will go out. Only one will shine, but it will be a huge lighthouse - Vladimir Vladimirovich Mayakovsky."
