Assistance in Social Adaptation for Adolescents and Young People with Autism Spectrum Disorders

This monograph is dedicated to psychological support for adolescents, young adults, and adults with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The author discusses in detail how to establish contact with people with ASD, how specialists can help them in forming social roles and interaction skills necessary for adaptation in society. Methods are explored that help a person with autism understand their own inner world and the world of social relationships: keeping a diary, individual and group conversations, shared reading of fiction. The long-term experience of organizing group meetings for adults with ASD is described.
