Aleksey Okruhin — a winemaker who achieved everything by himself. He has his own vineyards and wineries scattered around the world. He mostly lives abroad, and the only family member left in Russia is his grandfather. Aleksey returns to his childhood town after learning about the death of Makar Ivanovich. Regretting that he was late for the funeral, he heads to the house where his grandfather lived and worked as a guard for the last few years. It seemed that in the big family of Olkhovsky, everyone treated Makar Ivanovich warmly, however, the circumstances of his death raise suspicions in Okruhin.
