Cadets. Junkers

The short story "Cadets" ("At the Turning Point") and the novel "Junkers" included in this edition are united by an autobiographical theme – in his youth, Alexander Kuprin spent ten years in a cadet corps and military school and retained memories of that time throughout his life. The short story "Cadets" is dedicated to the difficult fate of the kind and trusting Misha Bulanin, who faces the indifference of teachers and the mockery of older "comrades." In the novel "Junkers," the main character Alexei Alexandrov finds himself in a completely different world, where yesterday's cadets must turn into exemplary officers.
