Alyona Kirsanova is a prose writer and playwright. She was born in 1989 in Novosibirsk. Her debut novel was included in the long list of the "Lyceum" award, and her play was particularly noted by the independent drama festival "Lyubimovka." The heroine of the autofiction novel "Carry-On Luggage" embarks on a journey to significant places for her after two years of living in another country: Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Kyzyl, and Saryg-Sep, to see her loved ones and understand her family's history. She wants to take with her things that would remind her of home, but in the end, she realizes that she will leave with just one backpack, like a true nomad. Only, unlike her ancestors, she is already digital.
