Psychotherapist Mark Novak is consulted only in the most complicated and convoluted cases. This is just such a case: in Kaliningrad, the suspected accomplice of the serial killer Mara Zelinskaya has been detained at the crime scene. The investigation needs her cooperation, but the girl has not uttered a word yet.
Having agreed to help, Mark arrives in the ancient city: the air here smells of the sea, and the gaze of the detainee pierces deeper than a knife. Now the man must attempt to earn Mara's trust and uncover the nature of her strange relationship with the killer.
