Scarlet Sails

«Scarlet Sails» is aptly named by Alexander Grin as a fairy-tale novel. One of the most romantic and optimistic works of the roaring Soviet 1920s affirms unshakeable faith in man-made miracles. Poor, persecuted by her fellow villagers, Assol believes in the prediction of the storyteller Egl and awaits a ship with scarlet sails, and the young captain Arthur Gray, having learned about this, fulfills the prophecy.
