May Night, or The Drowned Woman

Illustrated edition of the story by N.V. Gogol with the same title.

The central plot revolves around Levko, the son of a rural headman, who cannot marry his beloved girl Hanna due to his stern and cunning father. It seemed that there was no hope for help, but it unexpectedly arrives.

Inside the book are 92 thick glossy pages with watercolor illustrations and pencil and charcoal drawings; each page has a background effect of old light paper, with stains, flecks, and worn edges.
