Changes are coming to the kingdom, but the spirit hunter Ex is determined to preserve his craft. His goal is the legendary Shar-Ala, the demon of nightmares and madness, who has eluded his mentors for decades.
On his journey, Ex meets the charming fugitive Arinya and, for a generous reward, agrees to lead her through the forest, protecting her unborn child from evil spirits. The deal seems simple, but it soon becomes clear that Arinya is being hunted by more than just ghosts.
When both humans and monsters are on their trail, and secrets capable of shaking the entire kingdom begin to surface, Arinya and Ex must reach the safe capital at any cost—before it's too late. But as they draw closer to their destination and to each other, Ex is forced to question how far he is willing to go for glory?

Salini Goldenberg is a science fiction writer and artist living in Washington. In her work, she often highlights the perspective of characters who do not fit into the usual routine.
With a multicultural background, Salini often addresses themes of outsiderism, obsession, and alienation in her books. She previously worked at Bethesda Softworks, where she created story trailers for games such as Skyrim, Fallout 4, and Dishonored, and is currently producing video content for Minecraft.
In her free time, Salini draws, listens to vinyl records, and plays in punk bands.
