In the Service of His Majesty

The new novel by Vasily Zubakin is based on real events from the history of Russia and France. The main character is Henri Bint, a native of Alsace, the "godson" of Dantes (yes, that Dantes) — he has served Russia as a secret agent in the foreign residency under His Majesty Alexander III, under His Majesty Nicholas II, and even (while working for the GPU) when power came to "His Majesty the Proletariat". Therefore, among those he had to communicate with were royal persons and royal officials, revolutionaries and provocateurs, terrorists and double agents, but also beautiful ladies. And an unexpected, utterly inappropriate, and hopeless love comes to the protagonist of the novel while performing the very same official duties. Along with Henri Bint and his "wards," the reader moves from Paris to Zurich, from the shores of the Bosphorus to Nice, from Vienna to St. Petersburg. In the end, they learn some details about the authorship of the famous "Protocols of the Elders of Zion".
