Mammoth

Kirill Yeskov is obsessed with the idea of finding the remains of a mammoth. A certain writer travels to the future in a time machine, and the scene he sees amazes him. Physicist Lebedev, risking his life, smuggles a device capable of moving through time and space across the Caspian Sea. This book features many characters, each with their own great goal, but all are connected by a larger story, though they themselves are unaware of it.

In "Mammoth," the plot lines of a mysterious time machine, which keeps changing owners, and the search for the last mammoths that once lived in the Far North are intricately intertwined. Fictional characters coexist with real people, and literary characters from different books converse with each other. The novel "Mammoth" sometimes pretends to be an adventure novel, at times a pedantic historical prose, and occasionally turns into a horrifying horror.
