The Duelist

1808. A young nobleman, Fyodor Tolstoy, has turned 26. However, he considers himself an old man and believes that his life is over. Fortunately, it is during this time that the last Russo-Swedish war begins, in which Tolstoy decides to participate. This is the premise of the story of a notorious adventurer, gambler, and duelist who, according to legend, killed eleven people in duels and suffered a terrible punishment from fate for it — fate sent the death of eleven of his children. This novel by Oleg Khafizov reveals a new side of Fyodor Tolstoy's personality and serves as a continuation of the novel "The Wild American," previously published in this series.
