Darius

6th century BC. After the death of Cyrus the Great, who created the Achaemenid Empire, the fate of the state is under threat. None of Cyrus's sons could hold the throne for long, and his daughter – Atossa – is ready to give up the throne to the first passerby for personal power. As a result of yet another coup, Darius, the son of Hystaspes, becomes the new king and marries Atossa. However, Darius's ascension to the throne is marked by a series of uprisings from previously conquered tribes. The Achaemenid Empire crumbles before his eyes, and Darius has to restore the unity of the kingdom by rushing from battle to battle.
