The Death of a Stranger

Hamish Macbeth is sent into exile, or rather – to the small town of Croan, where he is to replace the local sergeant away from his native village. In Hamish's opinion, this is the dullest and gloomiest town in the world, and he is plagued by bad omens. And not without reason: he is met by unfriendly inhabitants, local scandals, and rumors of witchcraft. However, soon one of the townspeople dies under mysterious circumstances, and Hamish realizes that no one but him will investigate this incident. The only thing known is that lobsters are involved. And perhaps half the town as well.
