The Fruit of the Drunken Tree

Little Chula lives with her parents and sister in a beautiful house, in the yard of which grows the Drunken Tree, whose fruits are poisonous. Because of it, the neighbors fear Chula's family: the beautiful mother is considered a witch, and other children are forbidden to interact with the sisters. But this does not stop the girls from being happy: they play, dream, watch television, and keep an eye on the new maid Petrona, trying to unravel her mystery. Why does Petrona remain silent all the time? Why doesn't her family have money for a television? Why does she associate with young people that adults look down upon? And why did she take photographs of the sisters from the album?
