The tale of Baba Yaga is so ancient that it is unknown who and where it was invented and what the original version was. It is believed that its roots go back to the Slavs and were passed down orally from generation to generation until it reached those who collected classical texts. Since then, it has begun to be recorded.

Baba Yaga is a powerful, complex, and multifaceted character. She is a guardian who stands between two worlds: the world of the living and the world of the dead, but she does not obey the laws of either.
