It is along this route that Inspector LeBrock from Scotland Yard sets off, investigating the "impossible" murder in the locked room of the famous artist Gustave Corbeau, or trying to bring back the niece of his landlady, who has fallen into the nets of the totalitarian sect "Silver Path", or searching for the so-called True Gospels — with a truly badger-like persistence. After all, LeBrock is none other than a badger, and the world of "Granville" is predominantly populated by anthropomorphic animals, while humans ("headless ones") serve in the most degrading jobs and are deprived of civil rights…
