Night Scandal

On a winter evening in bad weather, Matthew, the Earl of Whittingham, makes his way to Leighton House after a long journey from London at the invitation of a respected scholar. He wanted to personally discuss with his colleague and hear how he might explain a recently published article in a journal that has stirred the scientific community.
But at the estate, Matthew is greeted by the beautiful Theodosia Leighton — a lady raised by her scholarly grandfather and who has lived with him all her life in the rural wilderness, dedicating her life to books and scientific experiments. It was she who sent the article to the journal, signing her grandfather's name, and now she regrets it. Matthew quickly uncovers the girl — and soon realizes that she arouses his strongest interest.
