A boy named Vasyutka went to the taiga for pine cones and got lost. However, he managed to overcome his fear and loneliness, reach the banks of the Yenisei, and along the way discover a magnificent lake that was named after him.

The book includes six stories from the famous Soviet writer Viktor Astafyev, in which the author recalls his childhood in a remote Siberian village.

Expressive full-color illustrations by Oleg Zubarev harmoniously complement the text of the stories and stimulate the imagination of young readers.
