The Bridge

November Sunday 1957. The USSR launches "Sputnik-2" with the dog Laika on board, and the whole world is following the news. The Becketts from American Newark are also aware of the latest events. But on this day, their seemingly ordinary life begins to crack unnoticed. The husband, Virgil, goes to church with his sons, then heads to play golf with colleagues. The strangeness begins when Kathleen, once a promising tennis player, now a mother and housewife, refuses to go to church. She takes out an old swimsuit and heads to the pool, from which she refuses to leave until evening.
