The turbulent, adventurous youth of the famous French writer Gustave Aimard (1818–1883) became an inexhaustible source of inspiration for his work. He traveled half the world, sailed across seas and oceans, and fought in wars. Twenty years of wandering allowed... the future writer to stock up on thrilling plots. He wrote seventy novels, which were published in giant editions.
This volume includes three novels from the cycle "Kings of the Ocean": "The Treasure of Cartagena", "The Coastal Brotherhood", "Sea Titans". The heroes of these books are the famous buccaneer Handsome Laurent and the pirate known as Bear Iron Head, whose names struck terror into the captains of Spanish galleons. Of course, there are treacherous enemies, loyal friends, cunning intrigues, dizzying adventures, and, of course, love.
The book reproduces illustrations made by French artists for the first editions of these novels.
