Fifteen years ago, Mitch McDeere and his wife Abby fled from gangsters running the corrupt firm "Bendini, Lambert & Lock." Hiding out, the couple lived abroad for several years, and then Mitch landed a prestigious position as a partner in a large New York firm that does business around the world, settling down with his wife in Manhattan.

One day, at the request of a colleague, McDeere takes on the case of the Turkish company "Lannak." They are suing the Libyan government for refusing to pay for the construction of a bridge. But as Mitch prepares to go to Libya, he has no idea that this trip will throw him into the epicenter of a dangerous conspiracy… And the lives of his colleagues, family, and friends will be at risk.
