Alien monsters, which earthlings dubbed mimics, ruthlessly occupy the planet - destroying major cities, claiming millions of human lives. The armies of all countries joined forces to engage in a decisive battle against the countless hordes of aggressors. Rookie Keiji... Kiriya, untrained and poorly equipped, like many of his comrades, was thrown into the thick of the battle, practically condemned to death. However, dying, Keiji also takes the life of an alien. And the unbelievable happens - Kiriya finds himself once again on the eve of that hellish day, and, closing the time loop, is now forced to fight and die, time and again going into that very battle. But with each return, Keiji becomes more ruthless, more skilled, fighting alongside the renowned special forces fighter Rita Vrataski, who has killed more enemies than anyone else on Earth. And each repeated battle brings them closer to unraveling how to defeat the aliens.
