The Den of the Moray Eel

The spirited boy Spirou in a bright red groom's suit, who first appeared on the cover of the eponymous magazine in 1938, — is a true legend of Franco-Belgian comics. For 85 years now, together with his friend, the tireless journalist Fantasio, and his loyal companion, a clever squirrel named Spip, he travels the world, investigates mysterious events, saves those in trouble, restores justice, and punishes villains, making thousands of amazing discoveries along the way. The series of his adventures comprises more than 50 volumes, and the opportunity to draw at least one story about Spirou is an honor for the best comic artists in Europe.

The most important event in Spirou's fate was his meeting with André Franquin (1924–1997). The talented artist worked on the series for nearly a quarter of a century and elevated it to the level of a masterpiece of the 9th art. For the first time in Russian, eight of the best albums by Franquin are being published, among them «Spirou and the Heirs», «The Thieves of the Marsupilami», «The Horn of the Rhinoceros», «The Bad Head», «The Nest of the Marsupilami».
