The Terem-Teremok

This collection is addressed to the youngest readers. «Kolobok», «Teremok», «Repka», «The Wolf and the Kids» — these texts are usually the beginning of children's acquaintance with the world of fairy tales. The collection is illustrated by the great master of drawing, Yevgeny Mikhailovich Rachyov, who uniquely knew how to turn ordinary animals into fairy tale heroes.

In this book, Russian folk tales about animals are gathered.
In the fairy tales, everything is extraordinary: both events and heroes. Animals and birds behave in a special way: they speak like humans, think and act like people — kind or evil, brave or cowardly, foolish or wise.
And in the bright, colorful illustrations made for this book, an ordinary red fox becomes a gluttonous and cunning aunt, a hare — a cheerful village jester, a cat — a desperate lazybones.
This wonderful gift of turning ordinary animals into fairy tale heroes was masterfully possessed by the people's artist of the RSFSR, Yevgeny Mikhailovich Rachyov, whose drawings are included in this book.
