Vulture Trap

1948. On the outskirts of Kazan, an elderly couple, husband and wife, have been murdered and robbed. There are no signs of a break-in or damage to the door. Clearly, the owners let the murderer into their home and paid... for it with their lives. Major Vitaly Shchelkunov, head of the anti-banditry department, is puzzled: this is the third similar murder in recent weeks. In all cases, the victims were elderly people who could not resist. Witnesses who accidentally glimpsed the criminal in the twilight claim he is tall and wears a military or police uniform. Already a few things...
