"Shepherding" is a team board game for children aged 4 and their parents, which teaches mental arithmetic, attention development, and logical thinking. Players roll two dice, add or subtract their values, and move the dog figure across the field, collecting sheep from the game board and avoiding closing gates. Thanks to simple rules, different difficulty levels, and a fun gameplay process, "Shepherding" has received the award for "Best Children's Educational Game" at Granicon 2024 – this only confirms the high quality of this board game! How to play?

At the start of your turn, you roll two dice and get two numbers. Now the most interesting part begins – you need to decide whether to move the border collie figure by the sum of these numbers or by their difference. For example, if you roll 5 and 2, you can move either 7 spaces or 3 – it’s up to you! Move only to adjacent spaces – no diagonals or going back.

Your task is to direct the dog to catch the sheep. If the figure stops on a space with a sheep token, you take that token and get closer to overall victory. But be careful: if the dice show the same numbers, you don’t move; instead, you change the position of the gates with that same number – closing or opening passages that may help or hinder the next turn. So every decision is a small strategy, and teamwork and mental arithmetic help choose the best path!
