"Limpopo" – a fast-paced card game that will boost the calculation and quick thinking skills of the youngest board gamers! Before starting the game, connect all the waterhole elements to form a circle, ensuring that the numbers on each side...
follow in order. Deal 5 cards to each player, and set the rest aside – this is the common deck. The first player plays one or more cards of the same animal type from their hand, placing them at the waterhole so that the number on the animal card matches the number of the spot at the waterhole. After this, draw cards from the common deck to have 5 cards in your hand. If there are 3 or more cards of the animal type you played at the waterhole, that animal immediately drives away the nearest weaker animal (with a smaller number). If you drive away an animal, take all cards of that animal – they become your victory points, which will be counted at the end of the game. If you have collected three cards of the same animal type but there are only cards of stronger animals (with higher numbers) nearby, you don't take anything, so think carefully about which card to play and when is the best moment to do so. The strongest animal in the game is the elephant (with the number 8), but it also has its weakness: as soon as 3 mice (with the number 1) arrive at the waterhole, they chase away all elephants.
To summarize: play a card (or cards) of an animal, take cards of a weaker animal (if you drove it away from the waterhole), draw your hand to 5 cards, and pass the turn to the next player. When the deck runs out of cards, continue playing without drawing to your hand. The game ends when any player plays their last card from their hand. The winner is the player who has collected the most animal cards.
