Being locked in with a murderer is an unenviable fate, but such proximity is not as concerning as the mess on the desk. Such are the life priorities of Hector Harrow, the concierge of the "Cavengrin" hotel.
Nevertheless, he will have to forget about the mess, as Hector, along with everyone else in the "Cavengrin," has been locked in until it is determined who killed the guest. And the main suspect is none other than Hector himself! Such a shock, especially at seventy-three years of age, can knock anyone off their feet, but Hector quickly regains his composure. He is determined to restore his good name and tell the world the whole truth about the events at the "Cavengrin."
On the suggestion of an old friend, Helen, a retired editor, Hector writes a book about what happened. And despite being an inexperienced author who sometimes gets distracted by the view outside or musings about the morals of the youth, he cannot be faulted for his observant nature and sense of humor.
