Nedialog

Nadia Alexeeva (b. 1988) is a prose writer and playwright; author of the novels "Midnight Girl" and "Belgrade"; a finalist for the "Big Book", "Yasnaya Polyana", "Lyceum", "Lyubimovka", and "Art Theatre Award". Sketches and plays based on Alexeeva's works have been staged in Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Ulan-Ude, and other cities in Russia. In the book "Nedialog", Nadia Alexeeva's plays are collected for the first time under one cover. Here, close people and random companions talk, but in a Chekhovian way, they do not hear each other; they try to put themselves in someone else's life without understanding their own; they seek understanding, but only complicate everything. The nerve of each story lies in the palette of孤独感, and the finale is in the endless quest for tenderness. A true playwright needs to feel the theater, its active essence, the necessity of constant conflict, rapid development, to create images that interest directors and actors. At the same time, they must write original dialogues that do not require detailed explanations or remarks. Nadia Alexeeva has all of this. Polina Raikina, actress of the "Satyricon" theater, educator. In a world where people have stopped talking to each other, the mystery of closeness—over any, even sad occasion—seems like a miracle of understanding. Alexeeva is interested in situations when a person is doomed to communicate: a sick person and a caregiver, the long ride of a bus, an elevator, the alienation of the far North. A place of delay, a stop in the automatism of everyday life. And then the inner monologue that everyone has must become external.
