In the Shadow of the Rock. Managers of the Caliphate

The plot of the novel «In the Shadow of the Rock» revolves around the life events of an Iraqi officer determined to fight international terrorism. This officer, named Yaseem Tarek, is recruited by Pyotr Goryunov, a colonel of the Illegal Intelligence Directorate of the SVR of Russia. Tarek is tasked with finding evidence of contacts between the banned organization ISIS and representatives of the IDF, the Israel Defense Forces. In addition, Tarek seeks revenge for his wife and daughter, who became victims of bombings during the American invasion. He wants to settle scores with the traitor who revealed to the Americans the coordinates of the house where Tarek's family was located.

In the novel «Managers of the Caliphate», the collaboration between Yaseem Tarek and Colonel Pyotr Goryunov continues, with Goryunov now holding a position in the FSB's Counterterrorism Directorate. Tarek, operating in Syria and Turkey, infiltrates the ranks of the terrorists' leadership — the so-called «managers of the caliphate», while Goryunov uses Tarek's information and connections, as well as his old contacts in the SVR, to disrupt the terrorists' plans in Uzbekistan and the North Caucasus. However, both Tarek and Goryunov face significant obstacles from a traitor, which puts them both in deadly danger.
