Grammemes — basic meaningful elements of Chinese characters, dating back to ancient drawings, they represent the elements from which complex characters are formed, and most grammemes can also have independent use as simple characters. The classical approach to studying initial Chinese characters... usually boils down to learning 214 radicals. This list of radicals contains the main grammemes necessary for finding an unfamiliar character in a printed dictionary. In fact, there are more than 300 grammemes in the Chinese language, and knowledge of all grammemes is required when studying characters, including those not included in the classical list. The practice sheets will help to learn and refine the writing of an extended list of grammemes and characters related to the topics of «Numbers» and «Colors».
