The hurricane with the beautiful name “Celeste” is about to strike idyllic Florida, and the Davises are forced to take shelter in their ocean-side home. Waiting out the storm in comfort, without going to a municipal shelter, is the sole desire of the wealthy family.
But their plans are not meant to come true: a strange boat docks at their property, three strangers ask for shelter, and the Davises cannot refuse them.
As the hurricane gains strength, the tension in the house grows. Eroded trust, old skeletons in the closet, and, most importantly, a strange feeling that not everyone will make it out alive—these all keep the reader on edge, not allowing a moment's distraction from the book.
